The Masai Mara is the northern extension of the Serengeti in Tanzania, and although it lies in Kenya, there are no fences to stop animals moving between the two countries. The Reserve belongs to and is managed by the Maasai people.
Maasai Cycles of Life
The Maasai have an enviable egalitarian society led by a council of elders and their entire philosophy is that life should be a celebration. Each significant change in the 15-year cycles of Maasai life is a cause for celebration.
